This is the spirit that controls the deadly sin, Vanity/Pride. He was in an Avatar the Last Airbender roleplay, and I really liked his character (as minor as it was). He's a spider, who walks up on two legs and the other 6 just sort of dangle (or are used like arms).
The spirit of Vanity, in the roleplay, exists through a pride of the physical realm. A pride in one's work, gains, and struggles. Hence, a spider. A creature that knows this physical pride very well. They spend hours working on a masterpiece, their web, that gets destroyed with or without catching prey. But they would certainly have a lot of pride in the beauty, wouldn't they?
I prefer the idea of Vanity/Pride -not- being protrayed through beauty, but in a way that completely encompasses the sin itself.
I listened to the accordion-based songs in the soundtrack of Amelie. It seems ridiculously fitting. I have no idea.
There is actually a long story for this picture. If you want to read, it's below.
-- I had a roleplay a while back using the characters from Avatar the Last Airbender. Aang was messing around with going back and forth into the spirit world (I can't remember what happened exactly), but he ended up accidentally 'ulling' the whole Gaang into the spirit world with him. My roleplay partner and I have had a lot of fun with this general idea, but this time around we decided to give the spirit world more plot importance.
In this scenario, there was a group of spirits who controlled the seven deadly sins. The first to approach them was this guy, Vanity. As we were roleplaying, he just sort of, stuck in my head. His design, his mannerisms, his perspective, everything. It was strange. We used the other 6 sins as well (and I liked a lot of them too), and I might get around to drawing them. I put too much thought into these minor characters O_O
I started doodling one night and started sketching him out. And, since I knew what I was drawing, I started making a playlist to listen to the right 'mood' music, while listening to whatever random songs came up. The soundtrack for Amelie came on my music player, and the accordions for one of the songs just hit me perfect. And I just put every song from that soundtrack that had focus on accordions, and drew this. Something about his character is still calling to me, as weird as that sounds.

I probably don't have to, but I disclaim all rights of Avatar the Last Airbender, just to be safe.
